European Citizens Perception Survey

The COVID-19 crisis of 2020 has brought healthcare to the centre of public debate like never before. European citizens still expect high levels of healthcare, including the provision of new, innovative medicines. Meanwhile, policy-makers must continuously explore ways in which to make health systems more sustainable and equitable, while faced with growing demographic and political challenges, and a once-in-a-generation pandemic.

In this context, Lilly carried out a survey of the general public in a number of European countries to gauge views on a series of health-related topics, such as public awareness of the scale and scope of research and development (R&D) in the biopharmaceutical industry, access to medicines, digital health, and healthcare priorities.

This is the second such survey we have carried out, the first was published in 2019. All aggregated and country findings will be found in the 2021 report.
